On the MHA Wiki site, you can edit existing pages and create new ones at any time to discuss homeschooling topics. To add text to this page or change something you already wrote, just edit in the box below and click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page. (You can “Preview” your changes first, if you like – they won't be visible to other visitors until you click “Submit.”) You can add headings,

). Thanks for contributing to the MHA Wiki pages!
Text:
!!{green:“Wiki Wiki” means “quick” in Hawaiian.:} A “Wiki” is a special type of website. It is designed to be quick and easy to edit. Anyone (including you) can make new pages and change existing pages. You can use the MHA Wiki site to network with homeschoolers state-wide and world-wide. It’s easy to get started. Click on the “Edit” tab at the top of the page you want to change. A text box will appear. In the text box, you can write new content or change what’s already there. When you’re done making changes, click “Submit” and your changes will be saved for the world to see. __Try it out! Go to our [ExperimentWithWiki|http://www.mhawiki.homeschoolers.org/wiki/goto/ExperimentWithWiki] page and practice – everything will make more sense. It doesn’t matter if you make a mistake! You won’t hurt the Wiki pages.__ ---- If you haven’t used a Wiki before, be prepared for a bit of culture shock. All you really need to know is: * To edit any page click on the “Edit” tab at the top. You should do that right now, and read the text that makes up this page. It will make more sense. * ''You get italics by surrounding words with two single quotes on either side like this.'' * You get bold text by using two underscores on either side. * And, bold italics by using both. * You get bullets by using an asterisk * at the start of the line * To have plain monospaced font, indent with a space: this is a poem about monospacing nothing rhymes with poem except possibly gnome nothing rhymes with monospacing "now, that line is worth erasing" * Put a blank line between paragraphs. Example: I am a paragraph. I am a paragraph too. We’re just very small paragraphs. * You can get horizontal dividing lines with four or more dashes like this: ---- * To make a new Wiki page, put a link (with the title you want your new page to have) on an existing Wiki page: Type the new page name surrounded by square brackets. It is customary to capitalize each word and string them together, [LikeThis]. If the page you typed does not exist, you’ll be invited to create it when you click on its link: [ThisPageShouldNotExist]. (And please don’t ruin the example by creating the aforementioned page.) * To link to pages outside the Wiki, you can just type in the URL and Wiki will link it for you: http://www.nytimes.com/ Alternately, you can name your links by putting the name, a vertical bar (|), and the address you’re linking to inside of square brackets. Example: [News|http://www.51acaiberry.com/] * To make clickable e-mail links, surround the e-mail address with angle brackets. Example: <mha@homeschoolers.org> * To link to pages on the regular (non-Wiki) MHA site, put the page name in square brackets. Example: [About MHA] * You can do __much__ more with Wiki. When you are editing any page, you’ll see a link to a detailed formatting guide that explains the full range of formatting options available.
